“We will gradually determine the range of countries with which the relevant procedures will be opened. I thought to start from the countries where the most Ukrainians now. These are, first and foremost, countries such as Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Baltic States,” he listed.
The head of state added that the final list will be ready after consultation with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
“Of course, there must continue to think about Canada, about other countries where many Ukrainians and where Ukraine is so much supported. It is also an important aspect – what countries are traditionally with us, traditionally supporting us and warm to Ukrainians, very warm and important for Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
Recall that the idea of the law on multiple citizenship was discussed before the full -scale war and additionally updated after 2022.
The current law was submitted by Vladimir Zelensky to Parliament in January 2024 and signed on July 15.
