Zelensky is waiting for Umerov’s report after the first round of negotiations with the US delegation

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the first stage of negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations has already taken place in the USA, and he is waiting for a report from the head of our delegation, Rustem Umyerov, before the next round.

Source: Zelensky during a joint meeting with Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro with representatives of the media, Ukrinform reports.

Zelensky’s direct speech: “Our team will contact me, we had such an agreement, tell me the result of the first block of dialogue, and then we will understand what to do with the continuation.”

Details: The President also informed that there are also representatives of Russia and Europe in the USA. He noted that he would be ready to talk about the details of the negotiations in the United States after Umerov’s report.

“I will have all the details later today,” Zelensky said.

What happened before:

• Before that Umyerov reported that the meeting of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation with American and European partners ended in the USA on December 19.
• Representative of the head of the Kremlin, Kyrylo Dmitriev will visit Miami on December 20-21 to hold talks with US Representative Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner on the US “peace plan”.
• US President Donald Trump on Thursday statedthat, in his opinion, the negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine “are approaching the result”.
