Details: Zelensky congratulated Mertz on his election to the post of chancellor and expressed his hope that Germany would continue to “play one of the key roles in support of Ukraine.”

The parties have already agreed to work on the implementation of many important things and discussed the prospects for cooperation, the Ukrainian President said.

“We also talked about how to make diplomacy even more meaningful. We will work together for a decent peace. We plan a schedule of contacts in the near future,” Zelensky added.

The new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has already made some public statements about Ukraine.
