Zelensky expressed his condolences to South Korea in connection with the plane crash

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, expressed his condolences to the Republic of Korea in connection with the plane crash at Muan International Airport on the morning of December 29.

“Tragic news of the horrific Jeju Air plane crash at Muan International Airport in Muan County, Republic of Korea that claimed so many lives. Every lost life is an immeasurable tragedy,” the head of state said.

On behalf of the Ukrainian people and on his own behalf, Zelenskyi expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Korea, and Acting President Choi Sang Mok.

“We share your grief and stand shoulder to shoulder with the Korean people at this time of sorrow,” the president emphasized.

Also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga, expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the plane crash at South Korea’s Muan International Airport.

“Shocking news about the passenger plane crash at Moon International Airport in the Republic of Korea. We express our deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims. Ukraine stands in solidarity with the Republic of Korea at this time of grief,” Sybiga’s post reads.

A Jeju Air passenger plane crashed during landing at Muan International Airport in southwestern South Korea. The plane overshot the runway and crashed into a fence, after which it exploded. More than 150 dead are known beforehand.
