Zelensky defined the law of the Cavaliers of the Cross of Military Merit

On September 20, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that recognizes special services of soldiers awarded the “Cross of Military Center” and provides certain state guarantees.

Details: The law establishes the right to be awarded the “Cross of Military Merit” on the relevant state guarantees. In particular, such people will receive a monthly cash payment of one and a half minimum wages and have social protection.

Separately, the law is about respect for the fallen soldiers, which are awarded this award. In particular, the law enables free burials with military honors and the possibility of honorable burial at the National Military Memorial Cemetery.

Reference: The “Cross of Merit Cross” award was established by the Presidential Decree of May 5, 2022 to commemorate servicemen for outstanding personal courage and bravery or a prominent heroic act in the course of combat missions, as well as outstanding successes in the management of troops.

The first cavalier was the current Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom and the former head of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny.
