The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said that he is considering the candidacy of the head of the Office of the President – ministers Denys Shmyhal, Mykhailo Fedorov, head of the State Government Kyrylo Budanov.

“I held consultations… I have options – Minister Shmyhal or Minister Fedorov, but there is a challenge here – because the Rada must remove them before appointing… The office of the president is important, but there are other institutions as well. Who can replace Fedorov – I don’t know… maybe Mykhailo will find an alternative for himself. It is more difficult with the Ministry of Defense, because the entire budget is the same, the responsibility is there, the army is there. Today, this is the number one priority,” he told reporters.

According to him, among the candidates are Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Serhiy Kyslytsia and Deputy Head of the OPU Pavlo Palisa.

“Budanov is in charge of intelligence, an important direction. He can be the head of the Office just like each of these candidates… We need to understand who will be in his place in the GUR,” Zelenskyy added.
