He said that at the meeting they spoke about the further development of Polish-Ukrainian relations, “a security situation in the region and possible decisions at the EU level and in coordination with NATO partners.”
“These months, we are implementing our Ukrainian-Polish agreements in defense cooperation quite seriously. I hope that in the six months we can say that we have taken a significant step to strengthen our security positions together,” the President said.
Schmigal said that he thanked the Polish President for his personal efforts to comprehensively support Ukraine against the backdrop of armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
“They discussed the situation at the front, strengthening sanctions, confiscation of frozen Russian assets, further support of Ukraine by Europe. We are grateful to Poland and all the Polish people for their constant solidarity and assistance in the most difficult times for Ukraine,” Shmigal wrote.
During his visit, Zelensky awarded Andrzej Duda by the Order of Freedom “for their distinguished personal services in strengthening Ukrainian-Polish international cooperation, support of state sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
We will remind, earlier Duda met with his successor Karol Navrotsky, one of the topics of which was the issue of membership of Ukraine in NATO.
Duda expressed his hope that Navrotsky, who made anti -Ukrainian statements, would look at Ukraine from another perspective after joining the post.
