“We talked about the importance of supporting Ukrainian stability and strengthening our positions at the negotiating table. We will do everything for this. We also agreed on our contacts in the coming days,” he wrote in a telegram.
Zelenskyi reminded that last week the European Council decided on 90 billion euros of financial aid to Ukraine for 2026-2027, and this is “extremely important.”
“We really appreciate that the European Union is so supportive of Ukraine at this largely decisive diplomatic moment. “Negotiations are ongoing, which can radically change the situation, and it is important that there is the right pressure on Russia for the sake of peace – joint pressure from all partners,” the president said.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that representatives of Ukraine worked “productively” with the American team in Miami, drafts of several documents were prepared – in particular, on security guarantees for Ukraine, on reconstruction, and on the basic framework for ending this war.

In recent weeks, the US has again been trying to reach a peace agreement between Moscow and Kyiv. As a result of the week-long negotiations, a document was prepared that is more acceptable to Kyiv, but there are several controversial issues, in particular regarding the territory and security guarantees.
On December 14 and 15, the Ukrainian delegation led by the President of Ukraine held talks in Germany with the special representative of the President of the United States, Steve Witkoff, and the son-in-law of the President of the United States, Jared Kushner.
In Miami (Florida, USA) on December 19-21, the delegations of Ukraine and the USA held a series of meetings regarding Trump’s peace plan. The American side also met with representatives of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, there were no visible signs of progress either in the negotiations between the USA and Russia, or in the meetings between the USA and Ukraine. Possible new future meetings were not announced. But US special envoy Steve Witkoff called the talks “productive and constructive.”
Against the background of the negotiations, the Russian military launched another massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine.
