“We are in the greatest war, and in this war, no country will cope against Russia on its own. That is why both Europe and the United States of America are important to us, ”Kamyshin said, commenting on US Secretary of Defense, Pitt Hegset, who said on June 10 that the United States budget for 2026 would envisage a decrease in military assistance to Ukraine.
According to Kamyshin, the Ukrainian authorities are considering the replacement of critical weapons, including air defense, but recognizes that certain systems supplied by the United States are extremely difficult to replace.
“The whole team is working today to ensure that these decisions are found,” the presidential adviser said, without specifying the details of negotiations or technical alternatives.
Pete Hegset, at the hearing of the House of Representatives on June 10, said that the United States intends to reduce their budget for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine in 2026. He did not specify the extent of the planned abbreviations, but noted that Donald Trump’s administration “has a completely different view of this conflict.”
“We believe that peaceful settlement through negotiations is in line with the best interests of both parties and our peoples, the interests of our country, especially given all the competing interests around the world,” the Pentagon head added.
Earlier, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Georgy Tykhy said that military assistance from the United States continues to come, and Ukrainian diplomats are working to keep it last.
The Ambassador of the United States to NATO Matthew Witiker stated on June 4 that the Trump administration had not yet made decisions on future assistance to Ukraine, as it remains “focused on preserving the possibilities of President Trump to terminate hostilities.”
