The former Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces, and now the Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK, Valery Zaluzhny commented on the government’s decision to create space troops by December 31, 2025.

“It’s time to look into space, because the only opportunity to reach the right level of safety is only in technological benefits in all domains. Therefore, the decision to create space troops by December 31, 2025, provided by the Government Program, albeit delayed, but still relevant, ”he wrote in the telegram.

According to him, it is very good that the high -tech nature of the war and future security threats finally dictate the need for immediate development of national aerospace technologies and capabilities as a key element of Ukraine’s defense capability.

Ukraine plans to create space troops by the end of 2025. The relevant intentions are enshrined in the Government’s program, which the Cabinet has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. By the end of 2025, Ukraine seeks to reach 60% of the operational readiness of integrated air defense and missile defense, as well as cyber and space components.

As stated in the Defense Ministry, Ukraine has three key space needs: satellite (a key element for long distances), intelligence, early warning of rocket danger.
