Details: At the same time, the OP did not mention the names of the soldiers or the positions to which they were assigned.

Also, the answer did not specify whether it is only about newly appointed persons – those who were hired in the OP after Yermak announced the reform, or whether this is the total number of military personnel, including those who worked before the reform was announced.

On October 17, “Ukrainian Pravda” sent a request to the OP regarding reforming the Office of the President by appointing people with combat experience to positions, which was announced by the head of the office Andriy Yermak on August 22. The publication was interested in how the implementation of the reform is progressing and whether there are the first appointments in 2 months from the moment of its announcement.

In response to a request, the OP reported that on September 2, the president made changes to Decree No. 126/2017 dated May 3, 2017, which provide that “during the period of martial law, to perform tasks in the interests of the defense of the state and its security, the positions of deputy heads of the Office of the President, heads of independent structural units, their first deputies and deputies, heads of units within independent structural units and their deputies, chief consultants, positions of the patronage service in the Office of the President can be replaced by military personnel who are on secondment in accordance with the procedure established by law and remain in military service, without exclusion from personnel lists.”

In order to implement this decree, by order of Yermak, a commission was formed to select candidates for positions in the Office of the President.

“The work of the Commission on the selection of candidates from among military personnel and combatants for positions in the Office of the President of Ukraine continues,” the response to the request states.

Also, the UP was interested in how many positions in the OP they want to replace with military personnel in general; whether new positions will be created under the military, or whether they will be taken over existing ones; whether people with combat experience will be able to hold only advisory or also management positions; what are the criteria for selecting people for positions; are they considering the possibility of appointing a person with combat experience to the post of head of the OP, currently held by Yermak; what is the deadline for this reform and others.

But the OP did not answer these questions.

Prehistory:

  • On August 22, the head of the OP Andriy Yermak announced that he proposed to reform the Office of the President. His andone was that “a significant number of the Office’s employees should be servicemen with proven combat experience of a full-scale war or veterans of hostilities.” Yermak’s proposal was supported by the head of state Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
