About 3,500 athletes from more than 100 countries will compete at the 34 sports tournament (60 disciplines). In total, 256 sets of medals will be played.
What do you need to know about worldwide games
- World Games are held at a frequency every four years. In addition, competitions are held in disciplines that are not included in the Olympic Games Program.
- Since 2001, World Games have been held under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
- The organizer of the games is the International Association of the World Games (IWGA), formed in 1980 at the initiative of the leaders of 12 international sports federations.
- For the first time, World Games took place in 1981 in Santa Clara (USA). 1265 athletes competed in 18 sports.
- World Games traditionally take place a year after the Olympics.
- Some of the disciplines that were previously at the World Games have eventually appeared at the Olympics.
- In 2025, the first Smoloskipna relay race at the World Games took place. It was attended by 120 outlets.
- At the previous World Games (2022), Ukraine showed the best result in its history, winning 45 medals. Then the Ukrainians took third place in the medal standings.
- For the first time, Ukraine participated in games in 1993. Then Ukrainian athletes won three silver awards.
- Ukraine ranks 9th in the historic medal standings – 128 medals (58 gold, 59 silver and 54 bronze).
World Games 2025: SportsAs we wrote earlier, 34 sports will be presented in the tournament. Some of them, like cheerleading and motor boats, make their debut in the World Games Program.

Ukraine at World Games 2025At the World Games, 2025 representatives of Ukraine will compete in 19 sports. Most of the Ukrainian athletes are presented in sports acrobatics, underwater sports and sparelifting – 13.
GymnasticsSports acrobatics: Among the participants of 13 Ukrainians. The competition will take place on August 8-10.
Men: Ivan Gorlach, Stanislav Kukurudz, Sophronius Davidenko, Ivan Labunets, Yuri Push, Yuri Savka, Taras Yarush.
Women: Ruzanna Vocheruk, Angelina Chernyavska, Alina Pugach, Karina Ostrovskaya, Elina Kozachanskaya, Euphrosyne Kryvytska.

Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation
Sports acrobatics are represented by 5 categories: female couples, men’s couples, mixed couples, women’s groups (three women) and men’s groups (four men). Ukrainians will take part in all kinds.
Aerobics: Ukraine will be presented in a couple (Stanislav Galaid/Anastasia Kurashvili).
Jumping on the trampoline: 4 Ukrainians will compete. The tournament will be held from August 8 to August 10.
Men: Andriy Sokolov and Denis Vlasov (couple), Timothy Chernovy.
Women: Diana Denisova.
Martial artsKarate: There are four Ukrainians among participants. The competition will take place on August 8-9.
Men: Andriy Zalitny (75 kg), Valery Chobotar (84 kg), Rizvan Talibov (more than 84 kg).
Women: Angelica Terluga (55 kg).
Muay-Thai: Three Ukrainians among participants. The competition will take place on August 8-11.
Men: Dmitry Shelesko (up to 57 kg), Alexander Yefimenko (up to 71 kg).
Women: Anastasia Mikhailenko (up to 48 kg).
Kickboxing: There are four Ukrainians among participants. The competition will take place on August 12-14.
Men: Gleb Mazur (52 kg), Roman Shcherbatyuk (more than 91 kg).
Women: Darina Ivanov (52 kg), Alina Martyniuk (60 kg).

NOC of Ukraine
Sambo: among participants of seven Ukrainians. The competition will take place on August 13 and 14.
Men: Alexander Voropayev (64 kg), Anatoly Voloshinov (98 kg), Petro Davydenko (88 kg), Andrey Kucherenko (71 kg), Vladislav Rudnev (79 kg).
Women: Lysenko Angelina (59 kg), dated Eugene (65 kg).
Jiu-Jitsu: Ukraine will be represented by two athletes in three categories. Freedom Mochulsky in the fileting (62 kg) and Konstantin Shutko in Non-Vas (69 kg and open competition). The competition will take place on August 10-12.
Volodymyr Shevchenko (85 kg) and Orina Ivanova will represent our country in competitions with Wush (August 8-12).
Water sportsSwimming in flippers: Among the participants of 8 Ukrainians. The competition will take place on August 10-11.
Men: Artur Artamonov, Alexei Zakharov.
Women: Victoria Uvarov, Sofia Lamakh, Anastasia Makarenko, Yevgeny Tymoshenko, Sofia Grechko, Anna Yakovlev.
IN Frieding Kateryna Sadurskaya will be represented by Ukraine. The tournament will be held on August 10-11.
In competitions Wakeboarding (August 8-10) Among the men will compete by Vladimir’s Chuba, And among women – Sofia Sokolova.
Ukraine will also compete in Rowing on a canoe (Dragon boat) and marathon (Maxim Redko). Both competitions will be held on August 9-10.

OtherCoverlifting: Among the participants of 13 Ukrainians. The competition will take place on August 14-17.
Men: Mykola Barannik, Vitaliy Kolomiets, Vladimir Shyniv, Anatoly Novoidamenny, Konstantin Musienko, Alexei Bychkov, Andriy Shevchenko.
Women: Tatiana Bila, Anastasia Derevyanko, Larisa Solovyov, Darya Rusanenko, Valentina Zagoruyko.
It should be noted that Larisa Solovyov will compete in the World Games for the sixth time. The athlete 4 gold and 1 bronze award.
Cheerleading: There are four Ukrainians among participants. The competition will take place on August 15-16.
Ukraine will be represented by the titled Anastasia-Anna Maloshenko and Elizabeth Timofeev.

- Elijah Otreshko in the Middle Distance and Sprint.
- Elena Babich in the middle distance and sprint.
The competition will take place on August 8-11.
Rock climbing (speed): Four athletes will participate in the competition: Konstantin Pavlenko, Denis Mozolevich, Yaroslav Tkach and Grigory Ilchyshyn. The competition is scheduled for August 14-16.
Square: Dmitry Shcherbakov will compete among men, and Alina Bushma-among women (August 8-12).
Dance sport: among participants of seven Ukrainians. The competition will take place on August 8-9 and 16-17.
Men: Oleg Kuznetsov.
Women: Anna Ponomarenko, Kateryna Pavlenko.
Couples: Earl Williamson/Veronica Mishko, Emanuel Kannistraro/Anna Lubanetska
“Neutral” athletes at World GamesUnfortunately, the Russians will also compete at the tournament. The President of the Sports Committee of Ukraine Ilya Shevlyak confirmed the information that 32 neutral athletes – 31 Russian and 1 Belarus received the world games.
Neutral athletes will be presented in 7 sports: hornical sports, billiards, jiu-jitsu, Thai boxing, scuba diving and sambo.
