What risks are Ukrainian companies ready for in 2025
On October 7, 2024, PrivatBank’s supervisory board elected Björknert to the position of chairman of the board of the bank, and on January 16, 2025, his candidacy was approved by the National Bank of Ukraine.
He plans to focus on developing a client-centric business model, strengthening digital initiatives, increasing operational efficiency and ensuring the bank’s sustainable development.
It is noted that Björknert has more than 25 years of experience in the financial and banking sector.
Previously, he held the position of head of banking business at Swedbank, where he was responsible for the entire range of banking services — from retail and corporate banking to operational issues and digital transformation.
Before joining Privatbank, Björknert served as the chairman of GetSwish and Bankgirot (Sweden), as well as a member of the board of Nasdaq (Nordic). In addition, he managed the global transaction service at SEB Bank (globally and in Sweden).
As reported, in October 2024, PrivatBank chose Mikael Björknert as the chairman of the board to replace Gerhard Bösch.
On May 27, 2021, PrivatBank’s supervisory board elected Gerhard Bösch as the new chairman of the board instead of Petr Krumhanzl. After the approval of his candidacy by the NBU, Bösh assumed the duties of the chairman of the board of PrivatBank on June 10, 2021.
