The US Presidential Specialist in the Middle East Steve Witcoff held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 11. The negotiations lasted more than four hours.

The completion of the meeting is reported by the Russian Agency “RIA Novosti” and “Interfax”, without revealing the content of the discussions.

The meeting was held at the Presidential Library in St. Petersburg. Earlier, Vitcoff’s visit was confirmed in the White House, noting that it is part of the diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Ukraine and concluding a peace agreement.

In his turn, the Presidential President Dmitry Peskov said that the parties would discuss “various aspects of Ukrainian settlement”, and the Kremlin expects to convey “basic elements of the position and concern of Russia” directly to US President Donald Trump.
