We came to Frankfurt to tell an obvious but important truth: Ukrainian culture has always been European. And today it sounds here not as a request for support, but as an equal voice in a large community of free cultures. We are grateful to the FKY directorate for their support and solidarity with Ukraine. And for the unprecedented decision to refuse the participation of the Russian national stand.

This is a manifestation of our common principled position: culture cannot be outside of ethics, and freedom of speech cannot be outside of responsibility.”– said Olena Odynoka, acting deputy director of UIC for international cooperation.

The Ukrainian pavilion was located on almost 200 square meters. Its design is inspired by the ornaments of Vasyl Krychevsky, the creator of Ukrainian architectural modernism.
