Robotic platforms are becoming an important element in the work of the military and perform many functions in combat conditions, and most importantly, they allow less risk to human life.
The Ukrainian company Rovertech, which produces unmanned platforms and demining drones, plans to start producing its new Zmyi Logistics robotic complexes up to one hundred units per month in the near future.
About this in NV interview said Borys Drozhak, co-founder of Rovertech.
“We are attracting licensees, and we will have expansion to other plants, capacity to increase production, Drozhak says. — We expect to produce 50 units per month soon. We want to reach 100 units a month. These are not easy tasks, but we are moving towards it.”
The Logistics Snake has already been tested by the military on the battlefield, and by the end of 2024, the Ministry of Defense approved its use and recognized it as meeting NATO standards.
“Why are such logistics platforms needed? For example, to move BC, water, provisions, various other things from one position to another, Drozhak explains. — Now imagine that for each such “flight” we do not risk the lives of two to five people once more in the conditions of remote mines, drops, artillery. This is why the Snake was invented, because it is armored.”
According to the businessman, the machine is able to withstand drops from enemy drones in combat conditions. “We had a story when 28 resets were counted on one robot, and he is still alive. The enemy, in principle, does not really understand what it is yet,” he says.
The functionality is quite broad: deployment of the ego [спеціальний колючий дріт]when it is necessary to make anti-tank barriers, and even take away the wounded. At the same time, Ukrainian products are much cheaper than imported counterparts.
“Now we are working on making it possible to put a turret on it [установка для кріплення кулемета]so that it works stably and has good management. At the same time, the Snake is distinguished by the fact that it is able to evacuate light equipment, – adds the NV interlocutor. “However, the functionality can be expanded – relatively speaking, attach a ton of TNT to it and detonate something in the enemy’s rear, that is, use it as a kamikaze.”
Now the team is working on improving the autonomy of its “robots” and reducing the number of people working with the platforms to zero. “We think in this direction. So that these drones protect each other, etc. After all, this type of war is a war of drones. And in order for success in this war to be on our side, we need to transfer what we know about military affairs to robots,” says Drozhak.
As previously reported, such robotic platforms are becoming an important element in the work of the military. According to the General Staff, by using them, Ukraine managed to reduce losses among the military by 30%.
Rovertech specializes in the development of ground-based robotic unmanned systems and has already released several products, including a demining platform.
