Weather for the New Year: the forecaster told whether it is worth waiting for snow

In the last weekend of 2024, calm weather with a temperature close to zero is expected in Ukraine, a slight cooling and wet snow is possible on December 31 in the north and northeast of the country, forecaster Natalka Didenko reported on Friday on Facebook, writes UNN.

“Looking ahead to the New Year, you can see that on December 31, a slight decrease in air temperature is expected, and in the north of Ukraine, including Kyiv, and in the northeast there is a possibility of precipitation in the form of at least wet snow,” Didenko wrote.

And the final weekend of 2024, according to her, will be synoptically calm, without weather extremes. Significant precipitation is not expected, except that cloudy and foggy weather will organize drizzle in some places.

“Since the synoptic situation over Ukraine on December 28-29 will be determined by an anticyclone, there will not even be any significant wind, it will be light, at most moderate. The air temperature has stuck to zero and small “pluses”, and it will hold. In Ukraine, during Saturday-Sunday, it is expected 0…+4 degrees, except for the night of December 28 in the eastern part, and on December 29 and in the west 0-3 degrees frost,” said the forecaster.

According to her, the final weekend of the year in Kyiv will be warm, cloudy and windy. It is expected to be close to zero at night, 0+2 degrees during the day.
