“Fierce fighting continues in Pokrovsk, where Russian troops are trying to break through the defenses of Ukrainian forces. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, about a third of all battles on the front take place in this direction, and the situation remains tense”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
“We can talk about hundreds of groups. That is, there may be several thousand of these occupiers who are trying to infiltrate like cockroaches, on a conveyor belt, along trodden paths along landings, along streets, along villages, along settlements, through forests of some sort. The only advantage of the current weather conditions is that there is not as much green and any enemy advance is more visible. Again, I hope that the losses that the occupiers have in wounded, destroyed, and captured will sooner or later have an effect and the occupiers will be forced to reduce their pace of advance,” said the officer.
In the daily reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in recent weeks, it is said that about a third of all battles on the front are taking place in the Pokrovsky direction.
As noted on November 14 by the Radio Liberty Donbas.Realii project, Pokrovsk, an important hub of Ukrainian defense in Donetsk region, was on the verge of capture after Russian army troops managed to break through to the city.
Meanwhile, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, who visited the Pokrovsky area, said that there is currently no question of the control of Russian troops over Pokrovsk or the operational encirclement of the Defense Forces of Ukraine group there.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in an interview for Bloomberg that “any decision to withdraw troops from the city is a matter for military commanders on the ground.”
