Wanted to teach for insulting a classmate: in Odesa, a man tied up and kidnapped a 10-year-old boy The suspect faces up to 5 years in prison

National Police of Ukraine

In Odesa, law enforcement officers detained a 55-year-old man, who is suspected of illegally depriving a minor boy of his freedom. According to the investigation, he took the child outside the settlement.

About this reported in the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

They said that the incident happened in one of the villages of Odesa district. It was established that the offender is the guardian of an 11-year-old girl. He decided to “teach” her classmate, who allegedly hit the child.

Outraged by what he heard, the man looked for a 10-year-old boy on one of the streets, where he was riding a bicycle. He forcibly placed the child in the trunk of his car, tied her hands, and so that she would not scream out of fear, he covered her mouth with a cloth and hit her several times in the face.

Having taken the girl’s classmate outside the village, he “conducted a preventive conversation” and then returned him to the place from where he took him. The boy’s mother reported the incident to the police.

According to the detainee, he talked to the boy calmly, but he instead cried and apologized.

The police qualified such actions as illegal deprivation of liberty of a minor, which was accompanied by the infliction of physical suffering.

The figure was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces five years in prison.

All the circumstances of the crime are currently being investigated by the police. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
