Von der Liaien promised Moldova’s “hybrid attacks and energy shocks”

The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Liaien stated that the European Union is ready to help Moldova in protecting against hybrid attacks by “autocracy agents”.

Details: Von der Liaien noted Moldova’s solidarity with the European Union when she adopted hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian refugees and helped in extinguishing fires in European countries last summer.

“And this is the EU membership. This is first and foremost solidarity and protection. The European Union will protect freedom, democracy, identity and security of Moldova,” she promised.

The European Commission also stated that the EU is ready to defend Moldova “from hybrid attacks and energy shocks”.

“Who is behind these attacks, we all know all of us here. These are the same agents of autocracy who are trying to undermine our democracy across Europe. And we will demonstrate the power of democracies,” von Der Lyen said.

Recall that on Friday in Chisinau, the first Summit of Moldova-EU took place in history.

It discussed Moldova’s cooperation with the EU against the background of Russia against Ukraine, further steps for Moldova’s European integration, security issues and a plan for Moldova’s economic growth, which EU allocates EU.

Moldova seeks to start negotiations on joining the European Union before the parliamentary elections in September to counteract Russian misinformation in the country about the EU.
