Details: This decision was unanimously approved by the city council of the Lithuanian capital on Wednesday.
Refugees from the war in Ukraine can use public transport free of charge from March 2022.
Such a decision was made by the authorities of the capital after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, when tens of thousands of Ukrainians arrived in Lithuania.
Similar decisions were made by other big cities of Lithuania.
Also on Wednesday, the Lithuanian government allocated 5 million euros for the installation of solar power plants in Ukraine.
It was recently reported that despite the increasingly negative attitude towards migrants in Lithuania, Ukrainians remain the most attractive group.
