Details: In 2020, Veremeychyk supported the protests in Belarus, and after them he left for Ukraine. From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, he went to the front and joined Kalinovsky’s regiment. Later, Veremeychyk moved from Ukraine to Lithuania, but there he was refused a residence permit because of his past service in the Belarusian army.
According to Belarusian mass media, Veremeychyk was detained in Vietnam on November 13 and transferred to Belarus the next day.
In Belarus, Veremeychyk faces up to 15 years in prison for serving in Kalinovsky’s regiment (Belarusian authorities have declared it a terrorist organization).
