Vicerem ʼ Yer Kuckka tried to assure the EU that NABU and SAP law was not detrimental to European integration

The new Viceremier on European Integration Taras Kachka in conversation with the European Commissioner on Martha KSA extended, he tried to convince Brussels that the Law No. 12414, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, did not threaten the independence of anti -corruption bodies and does not contradict Ukraine’s obligation to Ukraine.

Details: Duck said that he had a telephone conversation with the European Commissioner on Martha Kos enlargement against the backdrop of the Scandalous Law on NABU and SAP, and that Ukraine did not turn away from the principles of law and anti -corruption reforms.

“He stressed that today’s decisions of the Verkhovna Rada are not intended to jeopardize the institutional independence of NABU and SAP. All their key functions remain intact,” Taras Kachka wrote.

“There will be no compromise in the matter of anti -corruption reforms – Ukraine is seriously accepting this. Our agenda of reforms and commitments related to accession remain completely valid,” he added.

Recall:

• Martha Kos stated that “seriously concerned” the result of the voting of the Verkhovna Rada for Project # 12414, according to which NABU and SAPs become dependent on the decisions of the Prosecutor General, and called it “a serious step back.”
• The European Commission spokesman (even before voting in the Council) commented that the European Union was concerned about NABU and SAP, but the EU is not yet planned to raise the issue of suspension of financial assistance to Ukraine.
• Ambassadors of the Seven Group States, on July 21, expressed concern investigative actions of the Security Service of Ukraine on the National Anti -Corruption Bureau.
