“Putin should not have the illusions that Ukraine’s support may disappear in Germany,” said KlingBayl, a Social Democratic Party leader who is a junior partner in Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s coalition government.

“On the contrary, we remain the second largest partner of Ukraine in the world and the largest in Europe. Ukraine can continue to rely on Germany,” Klingbayl said.

He stated that Ukraine should be involved in peace negotiations, and a long peace requires ceasefire and reliable security guarantees.

“To this end, we closely coordinate our actions internationally,” he said.

Prehistory:

  • KlingBayl did not support the call of Bavaria Marcus Zioder’s premiere of CSS to deprive all the refugees from Ukraine social payments.
  • KlingBail also justified a significant increase in Germany’s military expenditures, stating that it is necessary to confront the threat from the Russian ruler
