According to the project, the first section confirms the support of Ukraine and NATO, as well as to create a position of a special coordinator on the restoration of Ukraine. The second section concerns security assistance, including direct loans and military funding. The third is strict sanctions and export control, which should touch on Russian banks, energy and mining industries, as well as Russian officials.

According to the agency’s informed sources, it is another attempt to put pressure on the administration of President Donald Trump to take a clearer position on the side of Kiev.

Literally: “Such actions in the Congress reflect the growing concern of legislators from both parties of Ukraine, as the Republican President Donald Trump has taken a more conciliation position on Moscow since the beginning of his second period on January 20.”

Details: According to assistants of congressmen who worked on the text, even if the bill does not receive the full support of the House of Representatives, its individual provisions may be included in a wider package of decisions on Ukraine.

“This bill will definitely become part of a broader legislative discussion,” one of the co -authors said.

Literally: “Despite the preservation of two -party support for Ukraine over three years of a full -scale war, more and more Trump allies have been expressing a more restrained position on helping Kiev after their party has gained control of the House of Representatives, and since January 2025 – and the White House.”

Prehistory:

  • In early April, the US Senate presented a bill on new sanctions against Russia for refusing the Kremlin from a peace agreement, including 500% of duties on goods from countries that buy Russian oil and gas.
  • On April 14, US President Donald Trump put responsibility for the beginning of Russia’s full -scale invasion of Ukraine not only on the owner of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin, but also on his predecessor Joe Biden and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
  • Trump commenting on Vladimir Zelensky’s proposal to buy American anti-aircraft missile complexes for the protection of the Ukrainian sky, he said that “it is impossible to start a war against someone who is 20 times out of you, and then hope that people will give you missiles.”
