The air forces are reportedly planned to buy two Cybertruck not for operation, but on the contrary – to use armored pickups, according to Ilon Musk, as targets for missile tests.
According to the documents, the US Air Force test wants to buy 33 target vehicles, including two Cybertruck, to supply the White Sands rocket landfill in New Mexico.
In addition to Tesla pickups, the list also includes a variety of sedans, SUVs, BONGO trucks and pickups of other car manufacturers. However, the requirements are only for two Cybertruck – there are no rest of the brands.
Vehicles are planned to be used as targets for high -precision weapons. As for Cybertruck, their inclusion in the list is explained by the fact that these machines can potentially be used by the enemy, since, according to observations, they do not receive the usual level of damage in case of strong collision.
“The tests should reflect real situations. The purpose of training is to prepare units for operations by modeling scripts as close as possible to real situations,” the document reads.
