According to the report, it happened in the evening of November 19, no one was injured.
“As a result of the shelling, at least 10,000 food kits intended to support the civilian population near the front line were destroyed. Food products stored in the warehouse and not yet packed in food kits were also damaged. The WFP continues to assess the extent of the damage,” the message reads.
According to the organization, over the past 18 months, warehouses and vehicles of the UN World Food Program and its partners have been hit more than 60 times. The UN emphasized that attacks on civilian infrastructure are prohibited by International Humanitarian Law.
“All the food kits planned for distribution in November have already been sent to the warehouses of our partners – the distribution of the food kits will take place according to the plan,” the organization added.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.
The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.
The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
