Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov claims that the next meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine (“Ramstein” format) has already been agreed and should take place in February.

Details: According to Umerov, “we have already mentioned that we are holding the next Rammstein in February.”
“We want the US to stay and strengthen its presence, the formats are different, as you know, we created the NSATU (assistance coordination center under the auspices of NATO. – Ed.), there are several European countries that want to lead it, or co-lead it, because this is done together with Ukraine,” he added.
The minister noted that at the moment “I don’t see any problems, because we have already agreed on the next Rammstein”.
Against the background of Donald Trump’s intentions to “quickly end the war”, the West was preparing for scenarios in which the role of the United States in helping Ukraine could become smaller.
Earlier, the Minister of Defense of Poland Władysław Kosiniak-Kamys suggested that the meeting in the Ramstein format on January 9 could be the last.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the issue of preserving the format will be decided by the next administration, but it is important for Kyiv and its partners.
