Details: Earlier, UP sources reported that Umerov flew to Florida (USA) on November 16.
Some interlocutors believed that Umyerov came to the family that lives in this state. Others claimed that he should meet with representatives of the Administration of US President Donald Trump.
However, the question remained open whether the former Minister of Defense and current Secretary of the National Security Council plans to return to Ukraine and when exactly.

- On November 11, against the background of evidence that within the framework of the criminal proceedings regarding corruption in NAEC “Energoatom” the influence of one of the suspects – businessman, co-owner of “Kvartal-95” studio Timur Mindich, on the defense sphere of the state is being investigated, ex-Minister of Defense, and now the Secretary of the NSDC, Rustem Umyerov went on an urgent business trip to Turkey.
- The Secretary of the National Security Council announced that he arrived in Turkey to “unlock exchange issues” for the return of Ukrainians from captivity in the Russian Federation.
- At the same time, the UP source reported that the Coordination Headquarters, which deals with exchange processes, learned about Umerov’s trip from the media.
- On November 15, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council announced the “decision of the parties to activate the Istanbul Agreements”, which included the release of 1,200 Ukrainians from Russian captivity. What are these parties and whether they are new arrangements or activation of previous ones – was not specified.
