The company noted that as a result of massive Russian attacks on electricity generation, transmission and distribution facilities, the situation in Ukraine’s energy system “really remains difficult.”
“However, it is completely controlled. Currently, due to the power shortage caused by the attacks, hourly blackout schedules are in effect in all regions of Ukraine – with the exception of some areas where emergency blackouts are forced. Earlier today, the Ministry of Energy reminded that there are hourly blackout schedules and capacity limitation schedules for industry and business throughout Ukraine, and emergency blackouts are being applied in some regions due to the difficult situation in the power system due to Russian strikes.
The day before, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine declared that it qualifies the Russian strikes on energy, which deprive Ukrainians of heating against the background of severe frosts, as acts of genocide.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure in all regions of Ukraine with various types of weapons – strike UAVs, missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, anti-aircraft missiles.
The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
