“Ukrenergo”: restrictions on electricity consumption will continue to apply tomorrow in most regions of Ukraine

The operator of the energy system “Ukrenergo” declares that due to the consequences of the attacks of the Russian Federation on energy facilities, tomorrow, November 7, most regions of Ukraine will be forced to apply measures to limit consumption.

According to the report, hourly shutdown schedules will be in effect for the population: from 08:00 to 21:00 with a volume of 0.5 to 1.5 queues – this is somewhat less than it was today, also for industrial consumers from 08:00 to 22:00 capacity limitation schedules will be in effect.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russia has been striking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have predicted that Russia may intensify its attacks to degrade Ukraine’s energy infrastructure ahead of the coming winter.

In recent weeks, the Russian military has intensified its shelling of the Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which supplies people with gas during the heating season.

On October 30, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine stated that due to Russian attacks there is a serious risk of dangerous consequences for civilians this winter, including long interruptions in heating, electricity and water supply. According to the UN, such interruptions will have a particularly painful effect on vulnerable groups of the population, such as the elderly, persons with disabilities and families with small children.

In August, the Ministry of Energy reported that since March 2025, Russian forces have carried out more than 2,900 attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
