“Until the end of the day, there will be hourly shutdown schedules of 2 to 4 shifts. Also, in regions where hourly blackouts are applied, capacity limitation schedules for industry and business will be in effect,” the company said.
Ukrenergo added that, in addition, as a result of bad weather, 16 settlements in the Kirovohrad Region were cut off.
Electricity consumption remains high, the need for frugal energy consumption will remain until the end of the day, the company emphasized.
Russia once again massively attacked Ukraine on the night of November 8. According to the Air Force, then the Russian military launched 45 missiles, of which 32 were ballistic, as well as 458 drones.
Centerenergo said that after this attack by the Russian Federation, the company’s thermal power plants stopped working. The company called the attack “the most massive blow to our TPPs since the beginning of the war.”
The structure of Centernergo includes three thermal power plants: Trypilskaya TPP in Kyiv region, Zmiyivskaya TPP in Kharkiv region and Vuglehirskaya TPP in Donetsk region, as well as a separate division of Remenergo in Cherkasy.
The Ministry of Energy also stated that Russia launched one of the largest ballistic missile attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine on the night of November 8. In order to eliminate the damage and stabilize the operation of the power system, first emergency shutdowns were used, then special schedules of hourly shutdowns were used in most regions of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of autumn, the Russian military has intensified its attacks on the Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which supplies people with gas during the heating season.
