According to the report, for the population, hourly outage schedules will be in effect throughout the day, for industry there will be capacity limitation schedules. “Ukrenergo” does not specify the number of blackouts – although it previously provided such information.
Meanwhile, the general director of the YASNO energy company, Serhiy Kovalenko, citing Ukrenergo data, released the following forecast on the evening of December 10: “In most regions of Ukraine, power outages will occur by the end of the week for three lines of consumers, which means up to 12 hours without electricity per day. Currently, it is difficult to predict the situation, since the energy system is subjected to Russian attacks every day. Three lines of hourly outage schedules are what await us. It may be easier in some regions, and worse in others.”
Ukrenergo reminds that the reason for the introduction of restrictions is the consequences of previous massive Russian missile and drone attacks on energy facilities.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russia has been striking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Since the beginning of the fall of 2025, the Russian military has increased its shelling of the Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which supplies people with gas during the heating season.
In Ukraine, due to damage to energy facilities as a result of Russian shelling, hourly blackout schedules and capacity limitation schedules are used for industrial consumers and businesses.
