“Ukrenergo”: in all regions where there were emergency power outages, hourly ones are introduced

The operator of the energy system “Ukrenergo” informs that in order to restore long-term blackout consumers in all regions of Ukraine, where emergency shutdowns were previously applied, hourly shutdown schedules will be introduced starting at 4:00 p.m.

“The scope of HPV application is up to three rounds at the same time. You can find out the time and duration of outages at your address on the official pages of the distribution system operator (oblenergo) in your region. Also, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., capacity limitation schedules for industrial consumers will be in effect in all regions of Ukraine,” the message reads.

In the morning, Ukrenergo announced that as a result of the massive Russian missile and drone attack on the energy infrastructure, emergency shutdowns were implemented in most regions of Ukraine. Before that, emergency shutdowns were reported in Sumy, Poltava, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk regions and in Kyiv.

The Russian army launched another massive attack on Ukraine during the night and morning of October 22. According to the Air Force, the Russian military used 405 drones and 28 missiles, 15 of which were ballistic.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Russian strikes on the night of October 22 mainly targeted the energy sector, but there were also many hits to residential buildings, which caused fires in Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv. Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhya, Cherkasy and Sumy regions were affected. Emergency power outages have been introduced in most regions of Ukraine. It is known that six people died in Kyiv and the region.
