“The delay in the start of the heating season in Ukraine and the cold weather caused a significant increase in electricity consumption – by more than 20% compared to the beginning of the month”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
“We hope that in the near future, within ten days, heat supply will be provided throughout the territory of Ukraine, and this will lead to a decrease in electricity consumption. Because now many consumers heat themselves at the expense of electricity – these are air conditioners and heaters,” he said on the air of the telethon.
According to him, over the past seven years, household consumers have become the largest consumers of electricity in Ukraine, so changing their behavior can significantly help stabilize the situation – first of all, it is about refraining from using powerful electrical appliances during the period of maximum system load.
In Kyiv, the possibility of receiving centralized heat supply for hospitals, schools, kindergartens and other institutions of the social sphere has been in effect since October 3, Mayor Vitaliy Klychko announced at the beginning of the month.
At the same time, the head of the Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA), Petro Panteleev, said that in Kyiv, the technical capabilities allow heating to be started “right now”, but at the moment the weather allows not to start the heating season in houses.
Panteleev says that heating for residential buildings in the capital can be started already in November – now gas must be used “in moderation” due to Russian terrorist attacks against the gas infrastructure.
This is happening against the background of increasing Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which provides people with gas during the heating season.
