The Special Operations Center “Omega” of the National Guard of Ukraine has successfully executed a mission to free one of its soldiers, who had been held captive by enemy forces for 27 days. This operation took place in the Pokrovsk direction, a notable area of conflict.
According to Commander Pavlo Yatsyuk, the operation was characterized as unique, occurring deep within enemy territory. The rescued soldier, identified by the call sign “Karat,” is currently en route to Kyiv for medical treatment due to injuries sustained during his captivity.
Yatsyuk expressed gratitude for the support received from various military and governmental entities, including the Security Service of Ukraine and the 14th Brigade of the National Guard. He emphasized the commitment of Ukrainian forces to ensure the safety of their personnel, stating, “Unlike the aggressor country, we do not abandon our own.”
The successful operation by Ukraine’s Special Operations Center “Omega” highlights the ongoing efforts to recover soldiers from enemy captivity. The rescued soldier is now receiving medical attention, underscoring the challenges faced by military personnel in conflict zones.
