Ukrainian athletes faced challenges in the women’s freestyle skiing event at the 2026 Winter Olympics, with none advancing to the finals. The best performance came from Angelina Brykina, who finished in 13th place, narrowly missing the top 12 by just 0.18 points.
In the qualification round, Brykina scored 79.84 points, while her teammates Diana Yablonska, Nelli Popovych, and Oksana Yatsyuk finished in 18th, 19th, and 20th places, respectively. The scores were as follows:
- 13. Angelina Brykina – 79.84 points
- 18. Diana Yablonska – 69.89 points
- 19. Nelli Popovych – 64.22 points
- 20. Oksana Yatsyuk – 62.68 points
Despite a strong attempt, Brykina was unable to land a complex jump rated at 4.690 difficulty in her second run, which ultimately hindered her chances of qualifying.
The Ukrainian team still has opportunities to improve their standings, as they await further rounds of competition. Each athlete will need to enhance their scores to secure a place among the top six finalists.
In the men’s team sprint, the duo of Dmytro Dragun and Oleksandr Lisyhor finished in 23rd place. The final events for Ukrainian skiers are scheduled for mass starts on February 21 and 22.
In the women’s team sprint qualification, Ukraine concluded in 20th position. Sofia Shkatula managed to elevate the team by one spot but could not secure a place in the top 15. The next competition will be the men’s qualification, set to begin at 11:15.
