Ukrainian Official Announces Upcoming Prisoner Exchange

The head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Kyrylo Budanov, has confirmed that another prisoner exchange is being prepared, following the recent return of 182 Ukrainians. This exchange is expected to take place by the end of next week, Budanov stated in comments to Novyny.LIVE.

Budanov expressed optimism about the timeline, indicating that the delay was primarily due to bureaucratic processes. He noted, “I hope that by the end of the week there will be another stage.”

In addition, Budanov addressed the current one-day ceasefire, suggesting that it is unlikely to be extended. He referenced previous instances where similar temporary truces were declared, particularly around Easter, but were frequently violated. Despite this, he acknowledged that many participants attempted to adhere to the ceasefire.

Budanov remarked, “I think nothing will change, and it will be the same today.”

On April 11, just before Easter, Ukraine successfully negotiated the return of 175 military personnel and seven civilians from Russian captivity.

Kyrylo Budanov has announced plans for another prisoner exchange by the end of next week, following the recent return of 182 Ukrainians. He also commented on the likelihood of the current ceasefire being extended, drawing parallels to past truces that were often violated.
