This year, the winter holidays for the orphans of fallen Heroes became a real holiday thanks to the generous support of Ukrainian Helicopters JSC.
The first days gave a feeling of freedom and admiration for the beauty of the Carpathians. Children climbed the observation tower, admired the mountain scenery that inspires to dream and believe in the future. They bathed in hot tubs and open-air pools, enjoying comfort and warmth even in the winter chill.
Horseback riding was an exciting adventure, and visits to the museum of Hutsul Region revealed to the children the wealth of culture, traditions and history of our people. Christmas night was special: the children enjoyed the festive kutia together, learned carols and sang carols sincerely. And then there was the morning service, with real Hutsul traditions. With the collected funds, they bought goodies, which they enjoyed together, exchanging smiles and warm words.
Other activities became no less bright. Children shot a bow, competed in accuracy, developed confidence and fortitude. The creative master class with the painting of shopping bags became a special moment: each child created his own unique design. One of the bags with the emblem of the 3rd Assault Brigade painted by Gleb had a special meaning. His father served in this brigade, and Gleb firmly decided to continue his father’s work, protecting our country:
“I depicted exactly this on the bag for a reason. Because this is my favorite team. I would like to serve in it, but only after obtaining a higher education. Or I will go to the SBU. My father died in the war, I want to continue his work”, – shares Gleb’s thoughts.
Every evening ended on a warm note – children gathered for an “evening candle”, shared the best impressions of the day and enjoyed communication. Games, parties and joint laughter filled their hearts with joy and faith in goodness:
“It was a rich and unforgettable vacation. We got to know each other, played, shared emotions, supported each other and were inspired. And the air in the mountains is simply incredible. Thanks to the airline for organizing a really cool vacation for us. We weren’t bored – we were getting rich”, – shares the emotions of Olena, whose mother died in Mariupol on the “Azovstal”.
The airline “Ukrainian Helicopters” made an invaluable contribution, giving orphans of fallen Heroes the opportunity to feel care, love and support. The Gerdan Camp in Verkhovyna became not only a place of rest, but also a symbol of unity and hope that Heroes are alive as long as they are remembered, and their children feel that they are not alone.
JSC “Ukrainian Helicopters” PJSC not only organized the trip, allocating the necessary funds for it, but also provides each of these orphans with monthly financial support in the amount of 10,000 hryvnias for various needs.
