In the early hours of February 15, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 83 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas models. This information was confirmed by the Ukrainian Air Force.
The drones were reportedly deployed from various locations in Russia, such as Millerovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied Crimea, including Gvardeyskoye and Chauda.
As of 8:00 AM, preliminary reports indicated that:
- 55 enemy drones had been intercepted or neutralized,
- 25 drones struck 12 different locations,
- Debris from downed drones was found in three additional areas.
The assault is ongoing, with Ukrainian defense forces actively countering the aerial strike.
The defense efforts involved the use of aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups, and drone defense systems.
Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted over half of the drones launched in a recent Russian attack, which involved 83 drones targeting various locations across Ukraine. The ongoing defense efforts demonstrate the resilience of Ukraine's military capabilities in the face of aerial threats.
