The team consisting of Joan Fabi Bezhura, Inna Brovko, Olena Kryvytska and Anna Maksimenko started the fight from the 1/8 finals. The first two matches became a real test for Ukrainian women. They defeated the Canadians with a minimal advantage (33:32), and in the 1/4 finals they defeated the Italian team, the number one seed, with a score of 34:33.
In the semifinals, Ukrainian fencers met with the vice-champions of the 2024 Olympic Games, the French team. The Ukrainian women dominated the match and won with a score of 38:30, advancing to the finals.
In the final, the Ukrainian women lost to the team of the Republic of Korea with a score of 34:45, taking second place. This is the second year in a row that Ukrainian fencers are on the podium of the World Cup stage in Vancouver: last year they were bronze medalists, and this year they won silver.
For Olena Kryvytska, this medal was the 12th at the World Cup, for Joan Fabi Bezhura — the 6th, for Inna Brovko — the 4th, and for Anna Maksimenko, who made her debut as part of the adult team, — the first.
