Ukrainian Defense Minister Reports Significant Russian Military Losses in March

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has indicated that Russian military casualties in March could exceed 30,000, including both fatalities and severe injuries. This projection highlights a concerning trend in the ongoing conflict, suggesting that the intensity of engagements may lead to unprecedented losses for Russian forces.

Fedorov remarked, “March could become a record month for the number of Russians eliminated. The dynamics of engagement indicate that, thanks to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, enemy losses will surpass 30,000 heavy casualties. Achieving a figure of 50,000 destroyed occupiers in a month would have catastrophic consequences for the enemy.” He mentioned that he would provide details on strategies aimed at making this a reality.

According to Fedorov, the Ministry of Defense receives daily video confirmations of incidents where Russian soldiers reportedly take their own lives after being injured by drones or during encirclement by Ukrainian forces. He noted that this number is increasing daily.

He described this phenomenon as a tragic outcome of decisions made within Russia. “Propaganda claims control over the situation and superiority, but in practice, the reality is different: untrained personnel, no chances for evacuation, and constant drone pressure,” Fedorov stated.

Another factor contributing to these suicides, according to the minister, is a directive from Russian military leadership that prohibits soldiers from surrendering. Fedorov explained, “Propaganda suggests that it is better to die immediately. However, after surrender, soldiers have a chance for exchange—these occur regularly between the parties. Yet, Russia deprives its citizens of the right to life.”

During the Munich Security Conference, Fedorov informed European colleagues that Russian military losses have significantly outpaced replenishment rates over the past two months. He also announced plans for the Ukrainian Defense Forces to increase monthly Russian losses to approximately 50,000 soldiers by the summer.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has reported alarming projections of Russian military losses, potentially exceeding 30,000 in March alone. He attributes these figures to the effectiveness of Ukrainian forces and highlights the psychological impact of Russian military policies on their soldiers.
