Ukrainian military leader Oleksandr Syrskyi recently conducted an inspection of the defense line in the Kostiantynivka-Druzhkivka area, where Russian forces are attempting to enhance their tactical position. This inspection comes as part of ongoing efforts to maintain control over the region amidst heightened military activity.
Syrskyi reported through social media that he was working within the operational zone of the 19th Corps, which is tasked with defending Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka. He noted that Russian occupying troops are employing a combination of small infantry group attacks and large-scale drone strikes to gain ground.
For nearly a year, units of the 19th Corps have successfully repelled attempts by the enemy to seize Kostiantynivka, maintaining their positions while inflicting significant losses on Russian forces. Syrskyi emphasized the command staff’s high level of adaptability to battlefield changes, highlighting their capacity to make proactive and unconventional decisions.
The commander underscored that key operational priorities include targeting the enemy’s logistical support, neutralizing enemy infantry at the onset of assaults, and preserving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers amid intense combat conditions. He also pointed out the importance of addressing immediate needs expressed by unit commanders.
Among the critical issues discussed were enhancing capabilities to counter enemy drone operations, ensuring the supply of ammunition, and providing other logistical support. Following Syrskyi’s visit, several pressing concerns raised by commanders on the ground were promptly addressed.
