Ukrainian Air Defense Intercepts Majority of Russian Drones in Overnight Assault

In a significant overnight operation on March 3, Russian forces launched 136 strike drones, including models such as Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas, targeting various regions in Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted 127 of these drones, according to reports from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian response involved a coordinated effort from aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups. These forces worked together to counter the aerial threat posed by the Russian assault.

As of 9:00 AM, preliminary data indicated that 127 enemy drones had been neutralized across northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian military reported that five strike drones managed to hit three locations, with debris falling in three other areas.

Despite the extensive interception efforts, the Russian aerial assault continued, with additional drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace. The situation reflects ongoing tensions and the persistent threat posed by drone warfare in the region.

Ukrainian air defense forces effectively neutralized the majority of Russian drones in a recent nighttime attack, showcasing their capabilities amid ongoing aerial threats. While most drones were intercepted, some managed to strike designated targets, indicating the persistent challenges faced by Ukraine's defense systems.
