Starting March 20, Ukraine has introduced a fuel cashback initiative aimed at providing financial relief to citizens. This program allows individuals to receive partial reimbursements for fuel purchases, including gasoline, diesel, and autogas, under the “National Cashback” initiative.
The compensation rates vary based on the type of fuel purchased:
- 15% for diesel;
- 10% for gasoline;
- 5% for autogas.
Participants in the program can save between 2 to 11 hryvnias per liter of fuel, with a maximum cashback amounting to 1,000 hryvnias per person each month.
This initiative is set to run until May 1, and a list of participating gas stations will be made available on official program resources.
For existing users of the “National Cashback” program, reimbursements will be automatically applied during transactions made with partner bank cards. To participate, individuals must open an account with a partner bank and select it for transactions within the “Diia” application.
The funds received through this program can be utilized for various expenses, including utility bills, medications, locally produced goods, books, postal services, or to support the Ukrainian military.
On March 12, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced additional support measures for Ukrainians, including a one-time payment of 1,500 hryvnias for pensioners and social assistance recipients, alongside the fuel cost compensation for vehicle owners.
Earlier today, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed the Cabinet’s approval of the “Fuel Cashback” program, which aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by citizens at gas stations participating in the scheme.
Ukraine's new fuel cashback program, effective March 20, offers financial support to citizens by reimbursing a percentage of fuel costs. The initiative aims to ease economic pressures amid ongoing challenges.
