In the early hours of February 28, Russian forces launched a significant aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying an Iskander-M ballistic missile along with 105 strike drones, including models such as Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that its defense systems successfully intercepted 96 of these Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas drones across various regions, including the north, south, and east of the country.
Despite the defensive efforts, six strike drones managed to hit targets, with debris falling in seven different locations. The response involved a coordinated effort from aviation units, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups from Ukraine’s defense forces.
The Air Force has indicated that the drone attacks are ongoing, signaling a continued threat from Russian forces.
Ukraine's Air Force successfully intercepted most of the drones in a recent Russian attack, but some still managed to strike various locations. The situation remains tense as the assault continues.
