Details: He emphasized that every such Russian attack on the energy sector in the middle of a harsh winter weakens and undermines the efforts of key powers, including the United States, to end the war. “Ukraine is as constructive as possible in diplomacy, while Russia is focused only on hitting and mocking people,” Palagusynets said.

He also informed that only in the current heating season, Russia has carried out 256 air attacks on the energy and critical infrastructure of Ukraine, and since January 11, strikes on energy facilities have been taking place almost every day.

Direct speech Palahusynets: “War criminal Putin continues to wage a genocidal war against women, children and the elderly. There is a clear humanitarian dimension to this winter campaign: attacks are timed and structured to maximize suffering as temperatures drop to extremes and heat, electricity and water outages become life-threatening. Russia is deliberately trying to create living conditions designed to physically destroy the Ukrainian people — exactly what Article II(c) defines.” Genocide Convention”.

Details: The delegation of Ukraine called on the OSCE participating states to “turn unity into action”: “Accelerate the supply of air defense systems and corresponding ammunition, expand the means of countering missiles and drones, as well as increase sustained political, economic and diplomatic pressure on Russia to stop aggression and ensure accountability.”

What preceded: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following a meeting with the head of the Ukrainian State Administration of Ukraine Oleg Ivashchenko on January 17, said that Russia is preparing for further strikes on Ukrainian energy and infrastructure, including facilities serving nuclear plants.

Earlier on Saturday, the Central Intelligence Agency said that Russia was considering the option of striking Ukrainian nuclear power plant substations to force Ukraine to sign unacceptable demands.
