Ukraine Implements Power Restrictions Amid Rising Consumption

Starting from 5 PM to 11 PM, Ukraine will enforce power limitations across all regions, affecting both industrial sectors and residential consumers. This announcement comes from the national energy company, Ukrenergo.

As of 9:30 AM on March 12, electricity consumption has increased by 2.3% compared to the same time the previous day. This rise is attributed to the aftermath of extensive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

Ukrenergo stated, “Due to the consequences of previous mass Russian attacks, power restrictions will be implemented from 5 PM to 11 PM for all consumer categories. For specific times and durations of potential outages at your address, please check the official pages of your regional energy supplier.”

The company urged consumers to shift their energy usage to the hours when solar power plants operate most efficiently, specifically between 11 AM and 4 PM. During the enforced outages, users are advised to limit the use of high-power appliances and avoid running multiple devices simultaneously.

“The situation in the energy system may change. Please stay updated via the websites and official social media pages of your distribution system operator,” the statement added.

As a result of the attacks on energy facilities in frontline regions, consumers in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia are currently experiencing power outages. Emergency restoration work is underway in areas where safety conditions permit.

Ukraine is set to implement power restrictions from 5 PM to 11 PM due to increased electricity consumption and the impact of recent Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. Consumers are advised to manage their power usage effectively during this period.
