The Ukrainian government has announced the creation of an annual award aimed at recognizing the contributions of workers in the energy sector. This initiative was confirmed by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
In her statement, Svyrydenko emphasized the dedication of energy workers who tirelessly restore networks after attacks, ensuring that cities and communities receive electricity and heat, often at great personal risk. She noted, “People who work around the clock, despite freezing temperatures and snow, deserve the highest recognition and honor.”
The government plans to award up to 50 prizes each year, with each award valued at 200,000 UAH. Funding for these awards will come from the state budget.
Svyrydenko described the award as a significant acknowledgment of professionalism and commitment within the energy sector. She added that it complements the monthly bonuses introduced earlier this year for repair crews, further demonstrating the state’s appreciation for their efforts.
