The Ukrainian government has streamlined the process for modernizing its aviation capabilities in response to the increasing threat posed by Russian Shahed drones. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this development on April 6, highlighting the urgency of enhancing the country’s aerial defense.
Under the new regulations, aircraft can now be equipped with weapons, communication systems, navigation tools, and target detection equipment without the need for lengthy approvals. This change aims to expedite the adaptation of planes and helicopters to meet the demands of contemporary warfare.
Svyrydenko emphasized that the entire modernization process would be reduced to one month. The initiative will involve not only aviation enterprises but also specialists and military units, allowing for a more rapid response to emerging threats.
